McConnell Dowell is pleased to announce that, in joint venture with Decmil, it has been appointed as preferred contractor to deliver the Mordialloc Freeway Project on behalf of Major Roads Project Victoria (MRPV).
An early works contract has been awarded with work commencing immediately. The main contract is expected to be awarded by late 2019 upon completion of the Environmental Planning Approval process, and construction works to start shortly after.
The Mordialloc Freeway project will link the Dingley Bypass with the Mornington Peninsula Freeway, reducing travel times by up to nine minutes to and from the Peninsula, and further enhancing opportunities for economic and tourism development in the area.
McConnell Dowell Managing Director, Jim Firth, welcomed the announcement and added,
“McConnell Dowell are looking forward to working with Decmil as preferred contractor to deliver this important part of Victoria’s growing transport infrastructure for the Victorian State Government.
“As with other significant infrastructure projects being delivered by McConnell Dowell in Victoria we are very pleased to have been selected to commence the early works and to ultimately deliver a safe, environmentally sensitive and high quality project that will reduce travel times and improve traffic flows through Melbourne’s south east.”
