Innovate - Reconciliation Action Plan

15 14 McConnell Dowell | Built Environs Reconciliation Action Plan | Innovate Our RAP Journey • Our office visitors engaged with our consistent use of our culture protocols and the artwork displayed prominently in our offices • The artwork process and story were highly engaging and used widely and proudly across the business • Our use of Welcome to Countries sparked people’s interest in local history and created a better understanding of First Nations history • Many projects challenged themselves further to educate their workforce on history and culture • Policy reviews created awareness and provided the RAP Working Group an opportunity to engage with senior leadership within the business • There was increased awareness and confidence in use of language • The RAP created a platform for engagement between projects and corporate offices. Resulted in deeper collaboration across the business • The RAP played a role in connecting our projects more wholesomely with local communities and businesses in the regions we worked in. Our Reflect RAP, released in November 2020, was our first formal step towards reconciliation for our Australian business. Our leadership, staff and supply chain partners have embraced the RAP process. It has strongly contributed to lifting people’s cultural awareness and their understanding of reconciliation. On the completion of our Reflect RAP, a senior leadership alignment session was held in April 2022, to review the progress the organisation had made and to prepare ourselves for Innovate. Reflect allowed McConnell Dowell Australia to lift awareness of reconciliation in the business. The Leadership Team and Working Group felt the following aspects of the plan stood-out: Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road Project, VIC Echuca-Moama Bridge Project, VIC/NSW
