We're excited to share that we have not one, not two, but three projects shortlisted for the 2025 Australian Construction Achievement Award (ACAA).
This is our industry’s highest and most sought after accolade - it's like the Academy Awards, Golden Globes and the Logies all rolled into one!
McConnell Dowell is represented by the New Bridgewater Bridge project in Tasmania and the South Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication project in Victoria. The latter completed as part of the Djilang Alliance.
Our building brand, Built Environs, is represented by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Stage 3 Redevelopment project in South Australia.
About the Award
Presented by the Australian Constructors Association and Engineers Australia, the ACAA recognises not only construction and engineering excellence but also how these projects are shaping a more progressive and sustainable construction industry. Overall, seven projects were shortlisted.
Australian Constructors Association CEO Jon Davies said this year marks a record number of finalists, reflecting the industry’s commitment to building a better future.
“This year’s finalists represent an impressive array of transport and infrastructure projects delivered across Australia,” said Mr Davies.
“These projects showcase smarter, more sustainable ways to deliver projects. From reducing environmental impact to prioritising worker wellbeing, diversity and skills development, these contractors are leading the way.”
Engineers Australia CEO Romilly Madew AO said the 2025 contenders stand out for their ability to integrate engineering ingenuity with sustainability and community-centric development.
“The Australian Construction Achievement Award finalists represent the best in Australian engineering, demonstrating how collaboration, technology and strategic planning can drive transformational projects that connect and strengthen communities,” said Ms Madew.
The winner will be announced at a black-tie awards dinner in Brisbane on Wednesday, 6 August 2025,
