In partnership with recycling specialists, Future Post, we're reducing waste and giving new life to HDPE plastic pipe off-cuts and shavings - transforming them into practical, sustainable products.
On the Warkworth to Snells Transfer Pipeline project in New Zealand we collaborated with Future Post to come up with a workable process for cleaning and containing the HDPE pipe waste in modified Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs). These were then transported from our Snells Beach project site to Future Post's processing plant in Waiuku.
Future Post produces a range of 100% recycled products, including UV stabilised plastic fencing and landscaping products such as bollards, sleepers, posts, and rails.
On one pipeline drive alone we saved approximately 20 cubic metres of plastic waste from going to landfill. Across multiple drives on the project, the volume of recycled product was substantial.
With a relentless focus on sustainability, our teams are always on the lookout for recyling, reuse and waste reduction opportunties.
Nice job team!
