We've all been to those industry events where you get to your table and there's some free 'merch' waiting for you. A pen. A hat. A USB (remember those?).
Giving away unsolicited products is a risky proposition, with each person having their own interpretation of what is useful or superfluous.
And with more than 78 million tonnes of waste generated across Australia each year, we're determined to do better, by our stakeholders, by our communities, and by our environment.
So, for the AusRAIL ‘Women in Rail’ breakfast, which we sponsor each year, we've partnered with Fifteen Trees who plant one tree for every attendee at the event, in lieu of merchandise.
Fifteen Trees is an Australian company located in the Central Highlands of Victoria. Established in 2009, the company operates with a small team of three along with a host of independent native nurseries and community groups (such as Landcare, school groups and environmental networks) across Australia.
So far, we've help plant over 1000 trees through Fifteen Trees; and there's plenty more to come.
