Our Ovingham Level Crossing Removal Project team partnered with fauNature to run a bird box building workshop with students from Brompton Primary School in Adelaide.
James Smith from fauNature gave an engaging presentation about the important role that tree hollows play in the ecosystem, and how bird boxes can provide habitat for birds and animals in areas where tree hollows are not present.
Having learned how valuable bird boxes can be, fauNature and our team members worked with students from the school to build 10 bird boxes which will be brightly painted in a follow up session and installed in trees around the new Torrens Road Bridge.
